Why Sell with the Eagle Sisters
Experience counts. Also, we care. We have over 21 years of business sales experience between us and have racked up well over 200 business sales. We believe our people-first approach has led to our success, and plan to keep things this way because listening to buyers and vendors is what gives us the ability to bring so mane positive outcomes to our clients.
After a number of years specialising in hospitality business sales, Theresa saw that her approach was different from many in the brokering industry. So many of her buyers came to hospitality with no industry experience and were looking for businesses that had systems and people in place to allow them to make the move into a new industry. But why was this not happening in other industry sectors? If an engineer had been off the tools for 10 years, focusing on growing their business, why was a broker saying you needed to be an engineer to buy the business? If the cash surplus in an installation business in Christchurch was $400,000, why was the broker saying you have to be local to look at buying the business when employing a manager on $150,000 could have you live anywhere and still net a good return? What has worked for one business owner may not be the only way a business could be run in the future, and often, the other paths available to the business will be directly related to the buyer and their skill set or history.
As brokers, we buck the trend of specialising in a specific industry -we specialise in understanding a business’s model (there are many business models that are replicated across different industries) and we specialise in people. Who are you to the business, and who could the buyer be… how far can we cast that net to create the most competition and land the best result? Time and time again, we have achieved multiples for businesses well above their industry average. This is from analysing and understanding a business's real strengths and bringing the right buyers to the table who see those strengths too.
